Two vagabond clowns attempt to retell Shakespeare’s supernatural thriller The Tragedy of Macbeth using nothing but homemade and household items pulled from a laundry basket. The actors combine Shakespeare’s original dialogue with contemporary commentary, which makes understanding accessible for students of moderate English language ability. Macbeth for Schools is an agile and mobile production that can adapt to almost any performance space. It is brought to you by Alex Baggett’s Reckless Shakespeare Company with the participation of an actor colleague. Using their experience on the stage, as well as in the classroom, this performance was adapted for school audiences. Students will appreciate the quality of the acting and be entertained. To deepen and enhance student learning the show can be accompanied by a tailormade workshop, in preparation of the performance, or as a follow up. Extra cost for workshop.
